The "S'Hort" (Lat; hortus) of the Begura family can be found already on documents of the 13th Century. The history of the house dates back to the 16th century. In 2001 the rural estate was fundamentally renovated while still maintaining its character. Resulting in 7 apartments available to rent for 2-4 people. Far away from the usual tourism you may enjoy the quietness in the middle of country-typical vegetation and walks in the Mallorcan countryside. Apartment 1: Sleeps 2-3 people (one bedroom, sitting room, kitchen, bathroom and terrace) Apartment 2: Sleeps 3-5 people Located on the ground floor of the finca (One bigger and one smaller bedroom, sitting room with open kitchen, bathroom and terrace) Seperate house Sleeps 3-5 people, Small house located close to the finca. (one bigger and one smaller bedroom, sitting room with open kitchen, bathroom and terrace). In every apartment an extra bed (solid bed with mattress can be added at a cost of €14/night. Babies below 2 years in a baby bed are free of charge. Two of the 2 people apartments can be joined together to one large flat through a door which can suit a larger family with three or more children (We offer a special price for this). Each apartment has an own terrace and terrace furniture. They have sitting-rooms with open kitchen and Sat TV, 1-2 bedrooms and bath. The floors were tiled, the rooms partly have natural stone walls and are equipped with ceilings of wood and reed and with central heating. The complete furnishing is new. Electric current and warm water are produced pollution free with solar heat collectors, the plentiful water comes out of own wells and cisterns. In a separate room a washing machine as well as facilities for ironing are available free of charge. A pool (about 4,5 x 12m size) including waterfall, shower and deck-chairs is available for all guests as well as a sheltered barbecue place. Many animals live on the Finca and can be caressed and fed. Grandpa Pont leads children on donkey and pony over the meadow and the whole family can drive with the small donkey-truck. They are preparing a lawn so that from 2004 on it can be used for lawn sport, perhaps also lawn tennis. Every weekend, usually on Saturdays, a majorcan dinner is served and all guests are invited. Fruits (lemons, figs, almonds, olives, cherries...) and vegetables of the season, which grow at the Finca, are at the disposal for the guests as well as a garden with herbs. Fresh rolls are brought in the morning. S'Hort de sa Begura is situated approx, 60km east of Palma de Mallorca between Sant Llorenc des Cardassar and Artà. Approx, 15 minutes by car from the east coast (Cala Millor. A small asphalt way in good condition leads to the finca, with sign posts from the road junction.
